Astaroth is one of the four great kings of hell who serve directly under their ruler Lucifer.  Specifically she represents the nephilim faction and acts as their leader.  In her world nephilim are humans who became demons after they died because they made a contract with another demon (there are two other kinds of demons, those who were born as demons, and those who are fallen angels).  In life Astaroth was an Egyptian Queen, and after rising the ranks in hell she became the third person to hold the name 'Astaroth'.

She's a very tall and elegant lady who definitely likes the finer things in life.  Clothes, jewelry, fine wine and flawlessly prepared food, she wants it all.  One of her favorite pastimes is just lazing around in a bath on her flying warship (and also spy on people by using the water as a medium).  She used to be married to one of the other demon kings, Beezlebub.  Though he seems to wish they were still together, she finds him utterly irritating and his attempts at wooing her repulsive.

The exact extent of her powers remains unknown, however the four kings of Hell are considered second only to Lucifer himself so it can be assumed she's no slouch in a fight and won't be overpowered by anyone easily.
